Service Description

This profile measures key hormones that affect fertility, libido, mood, and overall hormonal balance. It’s commonly used to investigate reproductive health or symptoms such as low sex drive, fatigue, or erectile dysfunction. It’s also often requested before starting assisted conception. What’s included: • FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) – Stimulates sperm production. High levels may suggest testicular failure; low levels could indicate a pituitary issue. • LH (Luteinising Hormone) – Triggers testosterone production. Low LH with low testosterone can indicate impaired reproductive function (secondary hypogonadism). • Total Testosterone – Measures all circulating testosterone, the primary male sex hormone. • FAI (Free Androgen Index) – Estimates how much testosterone is active (not bound). • SHBG (Sex Hormone Binding Globulin) – Affects testosterone availability. High SHBG means less free testosterone; low SHBG means more. • Prolactin – Elevated prolactin can reduce LH/FSH and testosterone. Very high levels may suggest a pituitary adenoma.
