Service Description

This test checks your levels of progesterone—a hormone that plays a key role in ovulation, fertility, menstrual cycles, and supporting early pregnancy. It’s mainly produced by the corpus luteum after ovulation and, if pregnancy occurs, by the placenta. When to test: • If you’re using this test to check whether or when you’ve ovulated, it’s best taken around 7 days before your period is due. • If you’re looking to establish a baseline progesterone level, the test can be done at any time in your cycle. This test is often part of fertility investigations or cycle tracking, and it gives you and your clinician valuable insight into your hormone health.
